Coconut Lagoon- Kumarakom
Location: 10 km from Kottayam, 8 km from Cochin, on the banks of Vembanad
Lake, hidden among the palm trees on the eastern shore at the mouth of Kavanar
River approachable by ferry only
Accommodation: 14 heritage Mansions, 28 Heritage Bungalows and 8 private
pool Villas, originally 'tharwads', the traditional wooden house of Kerala,
reassembled in accordance with thachu shastra. All mansions and Bungalow are
well furnished. The cottages feature ultramodern bathrooms, each located in
an inner courtyard boasting its own banana or coconut tree under a starlit sky
and utter privacy .
Restaurant: The oldest structure at Coconut Lagoon, serves superb Keralan
cuisine, intercontinental and sea-food in buffet service.
Other facilities: Swimming Pool, Ayrvedic Centre for massage and treatment
